Camp NaNo

http://campnanowrimo.org/

I blame my writing group. I blame my friend who is the head of the writing group. Two weeks before July, or maybe it was three I can’t remember, my friend gave us a couple prompts. You can see the prompts and the story that resulted if you click on “Stories” on this website. There was a third prompt last Wednesday night that added more to the story. I haven’t posted that yet. In fact, I decided to use that story as the basis for another NaNo. Camp NaNo started July 1. As I watched the story unfold, I’ve gotten pretty excited about it.I think I have a novel here. So… I rewrote what I had before and started adding to it. As far behind as I started, like yesterday, I still managed to be right where I’m supposed to be if I were doing NaNo. So last night I made up my mind. That’s what I’m going to.

This is the first novel I’ve written that didn’t include my sentient planet of Haven. That doesn’t mean She might not come in and join me in my writing but so far I see no signs of Her. I will probably make a new title of this one because Lost in Time probably has been done 1 million times but it’s the working title for now.

At least this time I have Dragon Naturally Speaking working with me so my fingers and my back won’t hurt so much. That’s what I’m writing with right now.

So without further ado, I’ll stop procrastinating and go over to my writing program and get busy. 🙂

Dar49 Daily. I am feeling great today. If there is the opposite of a Fibro-Flare, I am having it! Two days of wonderful weather! That is why I am especially happy with today’s Dar49 Daily. Fibromyalgic Comics, Bike lights from deodorant, What a cool issue my Paper.li robots made for me! Enjoy!

I so get this!

ADDadultstrategies

“I hear ya on the time management “tips” on the internet in general…I think most of those are written by people who don’t have ADHD or know much about it. It’s like a sighted person writing “tips for seeing” for blind people! That’s what I appreciate this blog…Doug knows what it’s like, and he offers tips that have worked for him.”

Yep…I’ve sure heard “that’s just an excuse” from my mother (a retired elementary school teacher!) many times about the struggles my children and I have. It doesn’t help that many of us CAN overcome our issues some of the time…people get the idea that we could do it if we really wanted to. It’s true…if I have a 7:30 meeting that I need to be there for and I know it will have a significant impact on my employment if I’m late, I will most likely be there. Same…

DIY FLY TRAP

We spend a lot of time outside & one of our big challenges with outdoor living are a huge quantity disgusting flies!

In the past I’ve bought traps and bait (that smelled foul) & they have been really helpful.

However I have found a great DIY solution to keep the population down and best of all you can make this fly trap yourself from used plastic bottles which appeals muchly to my reusing ethos and also makes it FREE!

Here is a method to make an efficient fly trap from one of your used plastic water bottles.

This is great for all sorts of domestic flies, blow flies and fruit flies

Materials: scissors, a hacksaw or sharp knife and some packing or electric tapediy fly trap before

BAIT- a small chunk of meat chopped into the water will attract blowflies or a small amount of cat/dog poo with a little water. This will cook…
