I decided that others I know would be delighted to read this rant that I feel personally to my depth. Great rant, Kat!
Adventures and Musings of an Arch Druidess
The first science fiction novel was written by a woman, Mary Shelley when she was 18. She was travelling through Europe with some rather well known men and they decided to have a contest to see who could write the best horror story, she dreamt of Frankenstein and his monster. Jules Verne wasn’t even born when she wrote Frankenstein.
So we come down to Dr Who and all the idiotic men who are wetting their tighty whiteys over a woman Dr Who. They need to grow up. Dr Who has always had some softer moments. 10 declared that books and a library were the ultimate weapon at one point not bombs or guns, sounds pretty nonviolent and feminine to me. And women can commit violence when they feel it necessary, those same white males just don’t approve if you fight back and kick them in the nuts.

I like some Doctor’s over others (Tom Baker introduced me) but why not a female? It’s been a long time coming.
My first doctor was Christopher Eccleston. I cried when he became David Tennant. David Tennant is my favorite. But I look forward to seeing how the next doctor plays it out. Each brings their own style and fun.
Right you are, each one brings their own style and fun (I couldn’t have said it any better). I don’t watch much these days, inaction I’m a couple of Doctors behind. If it’s not on Amazon prime or Netflix, I’ve probably missed it.
Just because I’ve been missing out, doesn’t mean I haven’t been keeping up.
I’m sorry if you are behind. And just a little jealous of your seeing the ones I’ve seen, for the first time. I think I am pretty much caught up on the ones since Eccleston. Not only is each doctor unique the story-lines and companions make a new show exciting. I mean, think about the Daleks. Those traffic cones with plunger eyes have gone from silly to absolutely scary for me as I have seen our Doctor and his friends put in such horrible situations. You will see how they came to be. You get an (almost) understanding as the story arc proceeds. And most recently we find how the Cybermen came about. For a cheap looking show, the writers have given us depth in everything. I know that it had to have an inexpensive look at the beginning, the studio had little money to invest. But the writers have stayed true to the beginnings by keeping things simple. It is about characters and interaction. Have fun catching up as you get the chance. During the next few months, I may go back and watch doctors I may have missed. I did see the first season but the next few Doctors I only know by sight not story.
