One-Liner Wednesday

Tomorrow starts A-Z and Camp NaNo, I can’t wait!

My goal is to edit the rest of Pandamapocalypse then actually end the book. I will try to use the A-Z prompt to write something that will fit into the book.

One-liner Wednesday is a fun easy prompt by Linda G. Hill.

Ta Da Tuesday

These slipper socks should be finished tomorrow sometime. It was fun playing with the leftover bits of yarn. Notes: KB fine-gauge Flexee loom, 40 pegs each. Kitchener cast-on . German short-rows for toe and heel. Cuffs will be 2×2 knit, purl ribbing.

The Cancer Code: A Revolutionary New Understanding of a Medical Mystery (The Wellness Code Book 3)The Cancer Code: A Revolutionary New Understanding of a Medical Mystery by Jason Fung
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a surprise. I thought it was going to be a bit of a dull read. Especially since I was reading it at bedtime. But bedtime is the time to read something dull. It helps you sleep, right? Nope! This was very interesting. I found myself engrossed in the information staying up as late reading this as any sci-fi or fantasy I usually read. Despite the facts and figures of the research the author pursued, he was able to keep the subject matter personable. The occasional pun kept my mind in the read.

I was fortunate enough to get this copy from our library. I highly recommend this book.

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “run.” Use it as a noun, a verb, use it any way you’d like. Enjoy!

Far From Finished Friday

As I look around I have so many projects and all of them far from finished. The items I am most drawn to is a mixed up crazy pair of slipper socks. I have finished the toe and plan to match the heels and possibly the cuff in the pink. The rest will be stray yarn around here. I think they will be fun warmth for the charity. And it uses up the leftovers.

Since I want to get busy and see how I like the new color combo before fading away to bed, I’ll just post the picture and scram. Happy Friday everyone!

What Day Is It Anyway?

Remember when we were playing that game at the beginning of the lockdown? Yeah. Somehow I have entered back into it. I stopped my brother from taking the trash out to the curb. “Hey, what are you doing? It’s only Wednesday!” We argued and he backed down. Hey. I would know. I hadn’t done a One-Liner so Wednesday didn’t happen.

Then a commercial for Grey’s Anatomy came on saying ‘tonight…’. The news was on and it said, Thursday down in the corner. What??? So I had to apologize to my brother and go grab the trash from my bedroom and bathroom. Where did the week go?

And how did it get to be almost tomorrow?

Well, it was a fun day. my friend and I are making a sort of creativity class from Felicia Day’s book, Embrace Your Weird. I have the Audible version and she has the book. We do the little exercises together and the bigger ones we do as ‘homework’. It is really challenging me. I am using a separate journal to do the work in and I feel I’m finding some of the blocks I have put up against the parts of me that want to express. And it is fun. I highly suggest finding and playing with this book.

Okay, I had better post this as I am getting distracted and don’t want midnight to surprise me again.

Biopsies

My arm is better. But today I had two biopsies of questionable skin spots. No pain. Just a little more to worry about.

The Love ProjectThe Love Project by T.B. Markinson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Game show romance, advice column fun with an edge. Not only is there a lesbian love story, but one that involves a bit of a different issue. I don’t know what it is called, but one of the characters doesn’t read people well. I must admit that I related to that character. Not only do I not read people, I fail to see weight gain or loss, understand that a friend or a family member needs a hug. That kind of thing. It can be embarrassing. By the time I get it, the moment is gone, and the conversation or situation calls for something else.

It was a book of hope for those of us that are people slow. The new friend helps by being understanding. Well worth the read, just for the education about types of people. And fun in a reality-show way.

I picked this book up on Kindle Unlimited. Try this quick, fun read.

It was Moderna. The next in a month. Didn’t hurt. Everyone here is doing okay. But my tired is a nap that needs to happen.
