Last time I saw this picture was in July last year. Oops! I haven’t colored in a long time! But today I finished using pens and crayons. I didn’t like the story they presented. I have a Marina in my latest Haven book so I rewrote the bottom. Which is nudging me to make the next story about Marina. I really like her and I think she has a lot to offer. My Marina has short blonde hair but I suppose she enjoys wigs or can grow it out now that she has been gene-popped with the other Havenites.

So now I have the beginnings of an outline for JuNoWriMo! Thank you Linda, for tickling the muses and getting me back to enjoying the escaping!

Here’s the next pic in that book. I hope I can hit this before mid-month for a change! It really helps to play with the crayons and colors!

I don’t like the idea of swords or knights or other things attacking my dragons, but this may well happen in the next book! Woe be to those who attempt to kill my Haven dragons!

Have you ever had a thing call you to do a something and suddenly you are doing it? No, keep it clean, you all! My music shelf needed sorting. My memory of singing in the truck last week finding I needed more air. Two things crashed. If I started playing the recorder again, I might make my breath stronger. I have recorder teaching books. At least that was the stream of thoughts. But straightening all those books, no recorder books. Darn! I did find my nice soprano recorder in my piano bench. There’s a plus. 

Then I decided to try and find an app to teach myself recorder. I don’t like the app at all. I spent two hours tapping our rests and whole notes on just the key of B and A. My fingers are hurting and I need more movement than just those two notes. I can’t imagine anyone liking that kind of lesson. I think I will go look for books on Amazon when I get paid. Meanwhile, I’ll just play around and see if I can keep the notes sounding pure and not squeaking. 

I think I am getting a music bug again. I miss it. And I miss coloring. And I miss writing. Well, JuNoWriMo is calling but I need to finish the old book before starting the new–or do I? What if I start something completely new?

Well, that is how my Sunday went. Muses are crashing into each other trying to get to me. I’m loving it!

A collection of thoughts come to me today. Forty two years ago today my third son was born. It seems a million years ago, yet yesterday. Never did he feel new to me. Never had the gene-pool collected so many aspects of loved ones. I think he inherited all the good of us. His preciseness, musicality, need to express, yet need for isolation makes him difficult to control but more lovable nonetheless. His life finally seems to be blooming. Love has found his life. I hope and pray that for him forever.

Now let me collect my emotions, tears of joy and love. Maybe I have a stable center when I’m not focused on family. But family is what I collect.

Hmm. This book seems to have a lot of differing reviews. I seem to be in the middle ground. I didn’t hate the book. I did find some interesting information here. The most coming from a documentary he recommends, Stink! Which is less about Intermittent Fasting and more about additives in foods and everything else in our lives. I rented it from Amazon. I was interesting, yet it made me feel a bit helpless.

As for the book, some things are explained better than Doctor Fung’s books but so few in comparison that I’d advise that you just read Dr. Jason Fung’s books. The thing is, Intermittent Fasting should be easy and not cost anything. But nearing the end of Joseph Mercola’s book, there are so many things a person should purchase to keep all the elements working to optimum health. Even a sauna. Nah.

I recently went to the eye doctor. Yes, the one that didn’t give me new glasses as he is setting up cataract-removal surgery for me. I can’t wait! It will be so nice when I can read all books again. Until that operation happens, I guess children’s books or Kindle and Audible are my only way to read. As the doctor and I discussed how I couldn’t even see the big E with my left eye, I told him how important it was that I be able to read. “I’m a writer!” I said as I pointed to my 2020 NaNoWriMo winner’s T-shirt. He pulled out his bookmark to prove he not only wrote but actually had published his masterpiece. I couldn’t wait to get it and read it.

Luckily, this book is a wonderful picture book. The poodles pictured in the book are the doctor’s own. He enjoyed taking them on hikes and snapped pictures. A story evolved with the pictures, as with children’s books, the writing is large enough for most of us to read. And the illustrations are adorable. Don’t think for a minute it is just a bunch of poodle pics. The story is fun. The poodles are secret agents solving nature puzzles. I can’t wait to see what they get up to in volume 2!

Making Monday


It is great to be back home. No driving or sitting for long times. While Chris was in the hospital I did a lot of knitting. At first I worked on this pair of socks.

But because I am trying to make the top of the sock a bit textured with four purl/four knit pattern, I found myself too distracted and doing the wrong stitches in the wrong places. So I left it at home the next few days and worked on the next pair of socks.

The bluish tinted yarn is very soft. That’s the part on the body of the sock. The toe and heel are a sturdier yarn. Because there are fewer stitches to keep track of, this is a better project when I am distractible. I finished the first heel today so these are going faster than the first pair.

Oh. And the hat. It is a soft mohair, light pink if the picture show it right. I’m doing a cable stitch that takes a lot of strength and concentration so I haven’t moved very far on it.

All of these are heading for the Hugger Hats charity. I still love the the win-win of getting to make things and having someone enjoy the results.

After reading
The Cancer Code by Jason Fung
and
The Diabetes Code Prevent and Reverse Type 2 Diabetes Naturally by Jason Fung
through the library Kindle version, I found I had a credit over at Audible and was able to get this one. After watching many YouTubes with Doctor Jason Fung, I was surprised that the author didn’t narrate his book. Still, Brian Nishii did an excellent job narrating. If you are concerned about seeing graphs and other illustrations, you can pick up the PDF of those if you get the Audible version.

I think I read these books out of order. And there was a lot of information that was repeated from one book to the next. So maybe that doesn’t matter in the long run. Doctor Fung does explain the purposes, past, and practicalities of fasting. I have since bought the paper version of the Cancer Code and the Diabetes Code. I know I will want to revisit a lot of the information after I get better at fasting. I want to do all this with my greatest health in mind. This has been quite the learning experience above and beyond the written page. I do have my own doctor along for the ride to make sure. For those who are curious start reading any of these three books or The Complete Guide to Fasting by Jason Fung, MD. If you can’t afford them, your library may have them. If an actual checkout date is too far off check out his YouTubes.

My rocker recliner is my best friend. Not only has it kept me in isolation from the covid, now it has rescued me from four days of traveling for four hours a day. I am in this rocker recliner and I’m staying and that’s all I’ve got to say about that.
