I can think of names of people I know who have heard me say that I didn’t believe Pyramid Lake existed. Julie, Cheryl, Chris, Yve are a few.
The thing is, while I lived in Reno, NV, I made many plans to see said lake. But plans fell through every single time.
Finally, I got there. It was beautiful and peaceful. Unfortunately, it was very hot so we didn’t stay long. But here is the proof:

Please Wiki the lake. It had quite the story to tell. Tufa and all

Yay! you got to stick your toes in, even!
I hoped that part showed up! Wish you were still here this week. I miss you and the rest of your crew so much!
Excellent, looks more like a sea to me 💜
It is massive but if you drive around it you see it is smaller than a sea. I looked it up and it is larger than Lake Tahoe. But Tahoe drains into Pyramid. Which may account for its clarity and depth. I had hoped to see Tahoe while here, but I don’t know if that can happen. Today is scheduled and Friday is loosely scheduled (Mall!).
Oh! I do envy you , I’d love a holiday 💜
Everyone needs one. A change in four walls if nothing else. It is really helping me. 💗
I am so pleased that you are doing well 💜💜
I hope you are, too! 💜💜💜💗

Isn’t Pyramid Lake the inland sea? It even has pelicans from when it was still connected to the ocean, so it can’t have been so very long ago. Glad you managed to make it. Why is it we only visit the neat things about where we live after we’ve moved away…or when visitors come? I hope to get up there myself some day :).
Oh, well then, I was wrong it is a sea. I wonder what makes the difference between a lake and sea.
Yes, it is funny how that happens. I tried to get out there when I lived in Reno but every time we tried something happened that made us turn around. That’s how the joke started that I didn’t believe it existed.
Obviously, I need to read more about it. I do love the tufa structures like Mono lake.
Meanwhile, I have to read up on tufa structures as I haven’t a clue. I don’t know if there is any difference between a lake and a former sea…well, except the pelicans which are not lake creatures :).
Tufa is quite amazing. They make Mono Lake look like a fairy world. So we are both researching. 😁
