Category: Coloring Books

So this is the before picture. I decided to try something new. I have all those pens and markers. So I didn’t do the crayons and pencils this time. I like that it works up faster but I miss the crayon smell and the ability to shadow or highlight.  And I think I see more stroke marks. Bleh! Oh, well, lesson learned and a hot day spent relaxing.

Maybe from an airplane, it looks good. Lessons learned.

Here’s the picture for next time:

So that is my submission of the July Escapist Coloring Club. Thank you, Linda, for a fun prompt.

This is my presentation to the Escapist Coloring Club. Sorry I’ve missed the last few months. I like to color. Why is it I put it off?

Here’s the before:

I used a combination of crayons, color pencils, and gel pens. Oh, that brownish stain on the right side of the page, that I remembered to put the blank white paper over in the before, It was on my husband’s side of the table where I kept the book. I think it was coffee. I tried to erase it or cover it up with a white pastel. Now I will keep it in my little lap-desk!

The quote below the picture didn’t show up all that well. It says:

The mysterious and elusive fairy dragons are often mistaken for large butterflies or dragonflies. They were favorite companions and mounts of the ‘wee people”.

Dragon Coloring Book

Oh, I have a new desk to keep my coloring and writing supplies.

My Desk

Not waiting until the last day of the month. Luckily this is May and there are 31 days! 🙂 Here’s my May project Empty first then color-penciled (noun becomes a verb!).

This guy was fun to work with. Imagine a colorful feathered dragon!

Here’s next month’s dragon (butterfly dragon?):

Thank you, Linda G. Hill, for this fun challenge!

I was on that long trip to the town for shopping. I’m exhausted. But at the end of my day, I was rewarded. If you have a Grocery Outlet near you maybe they have these little gems. I can hardly wait to play with them. Zen Doodle books that are $11-20 each. But I think it was $3 for both! I was looking for a clear shower curtain for cheap. That didn’t happen but these books! Yay!

Sorry for the bad lighting so I included the Amazon links if you click on the pictures. They aren’t badly priced there either. I think I might like to work some of these for Escapist Coloring Club.

I have been thinking about my next coloring project for the Escapist Coloring Club. I’ve used mostly colored pencils. They’re fine but I miss the smell of crayons. But I couldn’t seem to get my crayons to blend the way I could with pencils. I may have stumbled upon an answer. I thought I would share with the rest of you. By the way, I ran across this answer on Pinterest.

Besides the Baby Oil hint, there are other hints on how to make your coloring experience more fun and creative. I hope you all find these as useful as I did. And I’m with Alisa Burke, I only love Crayola crayons none of the others. Most of the crayons I have tried over the years were waxy and didn’t have that marvelous scent.

I colored this for the last day of the month. But then the escaping shoulder joint of my husband’s sent us out into the Snowmaggedon and sleep didn’t happen until 5 AM. By the way, his shoulder is fixed so…

I just wonder if this counts for my turn in for February still? At midnight the first of March we were in the ER. I didn’t want to use my phone to post more than the simplest post. First my eyes have a hard time on the phone screen and second my fingers never hit the right keys.

Without further ado…

Unfinished:

Finished:

Thank you, Linda G. HIll, for the coloring fun.

For March this will be my challenge:

I guess I never capture the page before I got busy. Way back a couple months ago I decided to watercolor in the sky. Bad idea and it discouraged me. I didn’t want to touch it again.

Since it is One-Liner Wednesday I thought maybe I should make use of the extra time and pulled it out and determined to finish it.

Here is the finished product:

I kind of like it now. And I’ve already taken the picture of the next one so I’me ahead of the game.

Once again, the Escapist Coloring Club is brought to us by the every busy, Linda G. Hill. Thanks for all your ideas!

It is 11:30 on June 30, 2018. This is all I got done for the Escapist Coloring Club. Sorry. Busy month!

I got the person done. Boo! A whole month and that was all! I’ll try to finish tomorrow and then start the next one real soon.

Thanks, Linda G. Hill for keeping our creativity active!

**** Edit–Finished!

Now to move on to the one for July. Wow! It is July!!!   By the way, the bare toes are free! 😀

Escapist Coloring

I thought I already did a coloring for this month. But I don’t see it reflected on the coloring page so here goes another. Here is the picture before:

And here’s the finished product. I do love coloring. I’m always surprised at how much fun I have while doing it. I need to make it a habit!

Thank you, Linda G. Hill for the Escapist Coloring Club!

Late to the Party!

Sorry to be late to the party, Linda G. Hill. Busy month. But here’s my Coloring Escape Page:

I’m horrid at taking pictures. This is the least blurry of the three I took. I colored this while watching Kong: Skull Island.  I had to make my reptile look better than the beasts on that show! Dragons have pride, you know! (I’ll try to get to this fun earlier in the month next time.)
