Per Linda:

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “happy place.” Write the first thing that comes to mind when you think of “happy place.” Have fun!

In my heart of hearts, this is my happy place:

Since that is far, far away and impossible to get to, this is my happy place:

It keeps me out of trouble and gives me peace.

Per Linda:

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “wallpaper.” Use it however you’d like. Have fun!

Wallpaper has become a symbol of the angst of new technology. Each new phone, Fire, and computer has wallpaper choices. They try to get me to choose something with buildings, but I reject those pictures. I like the ones with nature most prominent. Sunsets and beaches are my favorites. How about something like these?

If you’ve been following me for a while, you probably have already picked up on the themes of my life.

In real life, I prefer no wallpaper. Mostly it makes the walls feel busy. My life and home are too busy to have it appear on the walls. I don’t even enjoy putting up pictures. That’s funny in that I spend a lot of time making pictures! I wish I could just do the pictures and let others pin them on their walls. I like the process.

Well, back to my newest Diamond fun. Wallpaper begets this wallflower.

Linda G. Hill presents: Stream of Consciousness Saturday

2019-2020 SoCS Badge by Shelley! https://www.quaintrevival.com/

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “a picture from wherever.” When you sit down to write your post, find a picture, whether in a magazine, newspaper, or even product packaging. Write whatever thought or emotion the picture provokes. Enjoy!

When I see the moment the sun and water marry, I feel more alive than ever. And love to my core.

My very favorite place in the whole world is a beach. No matter the weather or the type. As long as it is the ocean. I’m not one for lakes. They are pretty. But my soul doesn’t feel that marvelous head to toe feeling I get smelling the salty breeze, feeling the squish of sand escaping under my feet with the bubbling surf suds. The sparkle of the sand in the sunshine, the change of color as clouds wander overhead. Treasure abounds with each shell or scurrying crab or bird. Farther away, seeing a whale migration or school of fish helping the magical ecology of the watery world. Ah, beach.

Just Jot It January is a prompt brought to you by Linda G. Hill.

Janet gave us our prompt word for today. Thanks so much, Janet! Please be sure to visit her blog to read her post and say hello. And follow her while you’re there!.

Your prompt for JusJoJan January 23rd, 2020, is “drive.” Use the word “drive” any way you’d like. Have fun!

Drive equals passion. Passion may include romance but in my life passion is what you live for. In my past this was my passion:

Not so much the roses or that is it a keyboard. But piano, music, voice. I felt most alive when in that element. As with reading my tracking has made reading music very difficult and headache-inducing. But I have found that my passions have a good shift control in that they can be redirected.

A lifetime passion has been the beach. Though I haven’t been for a couple years I tucked the experience into my cellular memory. I can go to the beach in my dreams, in my meditations any time I need to smell, feel the spray, feel the heat of the sand, hear the waves, envision myself walking or dancing at the beach or swimming in the surf.

But every day, this is what drives me:

I know to some this is boring. But during the time I am learning new stitches, feeling soft yarn, I can go to the beach or sing or think of my next story, or binge the next show.

Speaking of which, this is the show I’m bingeing now:

I’m watching it on Hulu. If you want to watch you have to be quick as it is leaving Hulu soon. It is sweet and fun to get to know the characters. A couple of the main characters just got their driver’s license. There. I managed to use a version of the word one more time!

You know that feeling when you finally hit the sand at the beach, you take off your shoes and feel the warm grains of sand massaging, absorbing your feet and spirit, and then that precious moment when you stand in the foam and hear the pounding of waves, smell the salt in the air? Or that moment when the car gets to the forest of evergreens and you have to stop the car as your eyes release the tension of the sun and city, and you smell the pine and dirt? That is how this blog affected me.

Okay, I am not doing the sunrise thing. Been there, done that. But I understand the concept. The only way a sunrise is beautiful to me is when I have had a productive writing night and I see it as time to go to sleep, at last.

The rest of this speaks to my soul. I hope it speaks to yours, too. Thank you, Jasmine, for sharing on http://kuuleilani.wordpress.com.

16 steps to happiness.
