What Day Is It Anyway?

Where has this day gone? I know I did a bit of knitting. I looked at my CampNaNo book from last month but never did any editing. I did add a prompt to work on tomorrow.

Oh, yeah I spent the day doing laundry. I still have one more basket to fold. Well, that’s exciting. Okay. I am grateful to have clothes, washer, and dryer. detergent and all. I am. Just tired.

It was a nicer day today (70) and tomorrow should be even warmer (72). We don’t have to drip the faucets. Another thing to be grateful for. I was glancing at photos from last year at this time and we had snow on the 21st.  This whole winter was far less snow but way colder temps that just seemed like they’d never give up. Maybe we are on a warming trend. Please no 100s.

Okay. I know it was Sunday as we did the Zoomie church (UU) and CBS Sunday Morning. But no John Oliver to round it out.

I got on a kick and decided to watch Battlestar Galactic from the very beginning to see if I could get it this time.  So season one from– I think–the seventies. Wow! The hairdos! I found the first season on SyFy the app. It seems like we were growing as a people. Though this is heavy in males, and the women were arm candy or mothers or both, at least the arm candy mothers were becoming pilots of the fighters.

I do love the shiny hair! And the boy and the dog robot. Oh, and heard the first FRACK!

May you have a nice Memorial Day tomorrow if you celebrate it where you are.

Day off of writing. Knitted a bit. I just can’t decide how long I want to make the cuff so about the time I think I’m ready to remove it I add a little more cuff and like it better. I think I’ll give it another inch. But gosh it feels good to knit!

Do you feel like you have more days of nada? Okay, I did have a game in my hand on my cell phone. Is that what I’ve become? That makes today a black hole.  I do realize it is Sunday as we watched CBS Sunday Morning. But not getting to sleep until 4:30 this morning. Nighttime seems awake time. Day time is distraction time. Total immersion in everything. I didn’t even think this stuff was bothering me. Nothing is different for us, the retired couple for ages before the weird. But weirdness. Especially on shopping days. Though my husband and I don’t go being the oldest here. But my brother and son go. Guilt that they are going, and risking for us makes it harder. Worrying that we might not clean good enough or that they might have caught something while out. So from Friday on through the weekend the stress wipes me out and hits on my ADD so that I am hyperfocused on anything but the craziness.

Oh, and shoot! I just lost my daily posting goal. I didn’t know it was so close to midnight. So yeah. Monday. #WDIIA

What Day Is It Anyway?

Don’t Know!

BUT I am finally caught up on my CampNaNo wordage! Well, I was at midnight. Oh, the quandary that was. At fifteen minutes to midnight, I needed to make sure I got a blog in so I wouldn’t lose my daily streak. I am now at 147 days that WordPress has kept track of before midnight posts I know in my heart that I have blogged daily for nearly a year, but just once if you miss and blog a minute after midnight, it starts counting from zero again. I’ve done better with Duolingo. I am on day 259. Duo does the same thing. Do it a minute after midnight, and the count starts back at zero.

So it dawned on me that all I needed to do was reblog something fast and then come back when I finished writing on my CampNaNo project. So I reblogged Linda G. Hill’s latest blog figuring if someone wanted to do the fun blog prompts she gives us. It would be a perfect place to start. Jake is your uncle, I am caught up on all counts! Today I needed 16,670 words to be right on track if I write 1,667 every day until the 30th to have 50,000 words in my novel, Pandemapocalypse. I keep rearranging the title as I have a hard time remembering it. But I think that is the right one. Anyway, the count for today-well before midnight was 16,711. Woo Hoo! The sad thing is that gene-popping dragons can catch the virus. And the virus may actually be an alien. Who knows? My characters need to figure it out. I’m just along for the ride. Well, typing.

So what day is it anyway? It is hard to tell after midnight. I haven’t gone to bed yet, so it is still Friday. That’s my opinion. Not the clock’s. I know it is Friday because and this is another stumbled, it was trash day, but at almost noon my brother realized it didn’t go out. I hadn’t thought of it, nobody in the house had thought of it. But we took our chances and rolled it out. The pick-up guys usually come at around 10:30, but last week they were later. Whew! They were late again, and our trash went away. And then it was friends’ time to Skype? Well, our first time trying Skype in forever and found it froze on my end, and the picture was fuzzy. So we went back to Zoom. That seems a better way. At least we don’t find what we talked about being advertised on our FaceBook page the next day. And only just now did I realize I didn’t make a call I promised. And last Saturday, I promised someone I would set up a time to chat, and not until the middle of last night did I realize I never called them back. Geez. I must be brain-dead! I hope these people understand that time/day wackoness is the problem and not my lack of love for them.

Okay, can I consider myself done and go to bed, please?

This is both a greeting to you and an assessment of my day. All quarrels of the past were mended, and hilarity ensued. I wonder if anyone has done a study of the lockdown process and where the highs and lows are. How many arguments happen and how did the people survive, not killing each other, and these are the people we love and would never want bad things to happen. I’m sure if lockdown were alone or with roommates, one doesn’t like much it could get scary!

Anyway, this #What Day Is It Anyway and #AtoZChallenge is brought to us by the letter:

Before I get too far, I need to say that once again, it is very close to midnight, so I hope I can get done before I lose my daily blogging record. And that is #What Time Is It Anyway. But Hey! I had a

And I used it in my #CampNaNo Writing today as I will assign it to one of the characters or a couple of them. What if we all write down what we don’t want to be left unfinished, or unsaid? Since the virus is hitting closer and closer as we know, more and more people who have it or have recovered from it or sadly didn’t get to finish with the rest of us. I made a list that was quite long but

At the top of my list is I would hate to not finish my daughter and her boyfriend’s socks.

My CampNano seems second for now. The characters are holding their own.

There are letters to write

People I want to see again and give GREAT BIG HUGS to

The list went on and on. The more I thought of it.

I don’t know if it will work. It has in movies. The main character can’t die because there is just too much for them to do.

And speaking of CampNaNo:

I wrote 2,248 today without a problem. The story is taking off. The word-count is now 10,076. It should be 11,669. So close, but if I can pull off another day like today, I will get caught up. Yay! Me!

Shoot it is after midnight. I hope I didn’t lose the daily streak.

Anyway, a quick recap of my CampNaNo story Pandemapolypse. So, of course, write what you know. There is a pandemic. My characters have learned via a dragon that is in all my Haven books, Enelrad came to help us all. She chose these characters because they have this innate ability to communicate with each other. How many of you have friends or family members so close that you talk alike, you pick up the phone at the same time, you can sense their troubles and are ‘Johnny on the spot’ for them and they for you? Well, this band of mothers and daughters have this for their peers and maternal bonds. In fact, when the daughters were having their last camp/picnic/birthday party, and the dragon appears, the girls were so afraid, for only a moment, but it was enough for the mothers to drive up to save the daughters.

And the adventure starts. And there is a lab cave. And there are huge aquariums where one of the daughters learns to communicate with marine animals. And the biologist/microbiologist has discovered that she can communicate with the virus on the slide. What! Yes! Well, this virus has it’s own name for themselves: ZOTci. They are angry beings! One of the first things they do is call humans bigots. And I guess from their point of view that must be true. We, vegetarians, don’t eat meat. But we kill the virus whenever we can.

There is a lot to do to solve this issue, on the real-life timeline and in the story. I think I will have much more fun trying to see the world from a virus’s point of view than facing lockdown and hospital truths shouting at us all day every day.

Anyway, that’s the gist of it! So hopefully you are all snug in your beds and staying healthy or getting healthy, Stay safe. Find ways to be grateful.

Will you look at that time! It is nearly midnight and I still needed to get a few more words on the blog before turning off the computer.

What the

Day is it or was it? #WDIIA

I think it was Monday. But all things went weird. I was supposed to be at a Zoom meeting at 6 but on my calendar, it was set for 7. So I got there as everyone was getting ready to leave. Then I talked to my Friday Friend and that screwed up my brain even more.

I wanted to get this in before midnight to get counted in the right place but at least today I did the Fiery Cross review so I was able to get in on the count. I think I may have blogged every day for a year but all that shows up is 140 days as I did it so often after midnight. Grrr! No, that is tomorrow’s letter.

And so my Fine Feathered or Furry or Frustrated human Friends, the Count of CampNaNo is still a day or two behind, at 7,828 words. I should be at 10,002. Maybe I’ll catch up tomorrow. And I’ll try to summarize for you the crazy antics my characters are up to.

Okay, time to get the URLs fixed on the page so credit goes where credit is due,

This #AtoZChallenge is brought to you by the letter F. Which I hardly used due to late-night Fuzzy head! Hope you are all safe and staying healthy!

It is 10 PM and I still have to finish 2,000 words for #CampNaNo and blog my #A-Z/#WDIIA. Okay, I will have to do this fast. At least I finished most of my languages on Duolingo. Well, I did German and Español. But not français or Esperanto. I usually spend a good half hour on the languages.

What Day Is It  Anyway? Well, we started the day with Sunday Morning and then an e-service on Zoom. So looking at the lower corner of my computer informs me that it is the fifth of April. How confusing has your day been? Sometimes the people in your house seem like enemies instead of loved ones. Then we realize we are all scared and the one thing we don’t want is to lose these people. I would guess the tighter the budget right now the harder it is to keep it together.

So that leads me to the 50,000-word challenge of CampNaNo. So up until now, I have amassed 4,735 words. I should be at 8,335. So if you will

I better get over to yWriter and write. I’ll try to give a bit of a summary tomorrow. My fingers and imagination need to fly! Ah, but that is a letter for tomorrow!

I hope you are doing well, staying safe and figuring out how to get along in all of this epidemic.

Title Much?

Or

Hashtag Much?

Get ready, this is April and I am connecting to all the things I am trying to do while, oh, I can’t resist:

So as the title suggests I am trying to remember #What Day Is It Anyway?

That’s easy. The trash is out for tomorrow’s pick up. I’m watching Grey’s Anatomy. Oh, yeah. this is Netflix. I decided I needed something to play in the background while I write. Hence rerunning from Season 1 on. I am now at Season 2 Episode 2: Deny, Deny, Deny.

I know. Why do I, with all this medical stuff going on, choose to watch medical shows, or disaster shows. If there is a psychiatrist out there, I hope they answer. Meanwhile, the most angst I get is how poor Meredith has to deal with her mother and how I relate. Differently, yet. I get it. ‘Ah, denial isn’t a river in Egypt,’ as Meredith says, ‘it’s an ocean.’. Seriously?!

We need yet another hashtag: #What Time Is It Anyway? I can’t believe that I was up since 7 (I usually don’t get up until 9:30 or 10. But as opposed to staying awake until 3 in the morning. Last night I didn’t read. But I hadn’t napped. So crash time happened at midnight last night. Ugh! Anyone else having weird hours? Geez! No wonder my brain is weirding me out if I leave it alone to its own devices.

So I thought about doing CampNaNo. But by the time sleep overcame me I had no idea what I was going to do. I couldn’t believe I was going to let one slide, but I assumed I’d deal with it. Below is a synopsis of what I’ve written so far. I think the story is actually better than what I tried here. But objectivity isn’t a quality I have during pandemics

I woke up hearing BBBB or 4B. Yeah, brain, shut up I want to sleep. I heard my new characters laughing in my head. I saw a pile of curly chocolate licorice. I didn’t understand why that was so funny. Then I saw my main character, Lizzy, whose nickname is exactly BBBB or 4B. Then I heard why. Lizzy and her friends had known each other since babies. Her friend April learned at a young age how to fix Lizzy’s hair from Lizzy’s mom. April’s first do was two ponytails. Lizzy’s mom gushed with, “Big, Beautiful, Black, Buns!” The girls had been so proud. And that is how Lizzy got that nickname. As teens, the guys found out and the nickname and teased Lizzy. But she cupped her ponytails and walked away with pride.

The pile of candy? What was so funny? Well, in the middle of a pandemic, when one sneezes on the candy that looks so much like those buns, and your best friend sneezes and you see the same thing, AND you almost pick up a piece of that candy anyway but the look on your best friend’s face reflects the same thing, you laugh. It’s what you do.

So now I have 1,579 words on my new NaNo I’ve titled ‘Pandemapolypse’. Who needs fiction when real life gives such crazy scenarios to start with? I need 3,334 words before bed. I’m a little less than halfway there.  So I best go get done!

And there my Sesame Street friends is #CampNaNo/#A-to-Z representation. Brought to you by:

and the letter
